Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the TierReader iOS application operated by TierReader ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Use of the App

TierReader is an AI-powered language learning app for iOS. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial language learning purposes only. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app.
• Use the app to generate, store, or distribute harmful, offensive, or illegal content.
• Attempt to circumvent any subscription or access controls.
• Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or systematically download content from the app.

2. Accounts

Some features may require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@tierreader.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

TierReader offers a free tier (with ads) and a paid subscription tier. Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and processed via RevenueCat.

• Subscription fees are charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
• No refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period, except as required by applicable law.

4. AI-Generated Content

Reading passages in TierReader are generated by Google Gemini and are provided for language learning purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content. You should not rely on generated passages as authoritative sources of factual information.

5. Third-Party Services

TierReader integrates with third-party services including Google Gemini, Google AdMob, Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple iCloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

6. Advertising

The free tier displays rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. You may be asked to watch a short ad in exchange for additional content or features. Personalized ads require your consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can opt out at any time in your iOS Settings.

7. Intellectual Property

The TierReader app, including its design, code, bundled dictionaries, and original content, is owned by TierReader and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited license to use the app as described herein.

Dictionary data included in the app is sourced from open-licensed datasets (JMdict, Tatoeba, Wiktionary) and remains subject to their respective licenses.

8. User Data

Your use of TierReader is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You retain ownership of your personal vocabulary data and reading history.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

TierReader is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TierReader and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to TierReader at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. You may delete the app and your account at any time.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
